Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, yeast, warm water, yogurt and oil.
3 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp active dry yeast, 2 tsp salt, 1 cup warm water, 1 tbsp sugar, ½ cup yogurt, 1 tbsp oil
  • Mix the ingredients together to form a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour, but don't overdo it. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
  • On a floured surface, roll out each ball into 8” circle.
  • Heat up a skillet over high heat, and cook each naan for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until it puffs up and gets brown spots.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and minced garlic. As soon as the naan comes out of the oven or skillet, brush the tops with the garlic butter mixture.
  • Sprinkle chopped parsley and enjoy!

Notes

To Reheat:
The key is to not overheat it and to make sure you add moisture. You can microwave it by wrapping it in a damp paper towel and microwaving it for 30 seconds. You could also put it in the oven at a lower temperature (300-350F) and wrap it in foil to create steam and therefore, moisture. If you reheat it on the stovetop, you can add a little oil to a low-medium heated skillet and place the naan in there covered and/or sprinkled with a little water to create steam. Finally, you can add it to the air fryer with a brush of butter or a sprinkle of water. The best thing you can do when reheating naan is to watch it closely - you don’t want dried-out naan.
