Am I the only one who starts thinking about holiday decorations and holiday food as soon as October ends? Well, if you’re anything like me, you’re probably day-dreaming of all the delicious treats that are devoured throughout the holiday season. I’ll take all the peppermint bark, gingerbread, fudge, and sugar cookies. Please, and thank you!

But, if you’re not dreaming about eating these treats, you’re definitely planning on making some. Perhaps, you’re even looking for some new recipes to try this year. Well, these white chocolate clusters are the perfect holiday treats.

Are Rice Puffs Gluten-Free?

Most rice crispy cereal is made with just rice (which is gluten free), some also have the addition of sugar and molasses. I suggest checking the ingredients list before buying.  Some rice cereals contain gluten, or are made in a gluten facility. and if you are not on a gluten free diet, nothing much to worry about, you can use the kids favorite rice krispies cereal for these white chocolate clusters recipes.

How to Store Chocolate Clusters

Store these chocolate clusters in an airtight container, away from warm surfaces. You can also keep the clusters in the fridge, and take them out 20 minutes before serving. The longer they stay, even just out on the counter, the harder they will get. Try to enjoy the chocolate clusters within 4 days of making them.

Why You Need These White Chocolate Clusters In Your Life

They’re so incredibly easy to make. You only need four ingredients (one more if you want the extra chocolatey drizzle on top) and less than an hour (this includes the time it takes the clusters to cool down). So if you’re hosting a holiday party this year, you can quickly make these and focus on your other dishes. But if you’re a guest, these make the perfect take-along.

You can make them ahead of time. Whip these up the night before! Just store in an air-tight container.

You can add, omit, and replace as you like. The recipe is pretty fantastic as it is, and you can tailor this to your exact preference. If you’re not a fan of almonds, you can easily replace them with peanuts, or even pistachios. Don’t want the chocolate drizzle? Try caramel instead, or skip the drizzle entirely.

These white chocolate clusters are always a hit with my guests and they’ll always be a part of our holidays. I hope they become a part of yours too!

Key Ingredients

white chocolate rice puffs clusters ingredients- chocolate chips, almonds, white chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, and crispy rice cereal.

Sunflower seeds: raw, unshelled. If you only find the roasted kind, that will work too.

Slivered almonds: these come pre-cut like that. Which makes it that much easier.

White chocolate chips: it doesn’t have to be chips, it could be just your favorite white chocolate, but I found that chocolate chips melt so fast.

Crispy rice cereal: If you have a kid-friendly rice crispy treat cereal, you can use those. For the gluten-free option I use rice cereal.

(optional) Chocolate chips: milk or dark chocolate work great here, but the drizzle is optional. If you don’t have any semi sweet chocolate chips on hand, no worries.

Expert Tips

  • Pour in the white chocolate while it’s warm. When it cools, it’s harder to mix with the ingredients.
  • Experiment with different nuts or add dried fruits for a personalized touch to your white chocolate rice puff clusters.
  • Maintain consistency in cluster size by using an ice cream spoon, ensuring even cooking and presentation.
  • If adding a chocolate drizzle, do so after the clusters have cooled.
  • Use semi sweet or milk chocolate chips for the top drizzle if you like sweet clusters. Dark chocolate works great for a color contrast and a less sweet touch.
