Easy 20 Minute Madeleine Cookies
These classic Madeleine Cookies are easy to make and they taste amazing!
Classic Madeleines are a French cookie that mix quickly and bake even quicker. You’ll feel like a pastry chef making sweet treats in your own kitchen: no difficulties!
On top of that, you can experiment with this recipe by adding your favorite flavors, nuts, spices, or extracts. I’ve tried making madeleine cookies with honey, shredded coconut, and lemon zest.
The beauty of these cookies is that they always turn out great and it only takes 20 minutes to make them. This recipe makes 24 cookies. You will need a 12-cavity madeleine pan, so I have 2 pans to speed up the process.

Expert Tips:
- After baking, turn the pan upside down onto a cooling rack or baking sheet promptly. This will prevent condensation, helping to create a crisp exterior.
- Ensure a non-stick experience by thoroughly buttering the madeleine pans, preventing the cookies from sticking.
- Add a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients. This adds a warm and comforting twist on classic madeleines. You can also incorporate orange zest for a citrus flavor!
- Experiment with different sugars like light brown sugar or a mix of white and brown sugar for added depth and a subtle caramel note.
- Enjoy these amazing madeleine cookies with a cup of tea after dinner. They’re perfect for holidays, too!
