Quick, Creamy, and Delicious Mushroom Toast

Mushroom toast is creamy and flavorful. Makes a great appetizer at parties, showers, or just a healthy daily meal.

  • 2 Tbsp butter, unsalted
  • ½ lb white mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 baguette, sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375F.
  • In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat.

  • Add diced onion and thinly sliced mushrooms. Cook for 7 minutes, or until onion is soft and mushrooms are lightly brown.

  • Season with a small pinch of salt. Add minced garlic, give the mushroom mixture a good mix, and remove from the heat.

  • Transfer mushrooms and onions into a mixing bowl. Add chopped dill and mayonnaise. Mix well. (Optional: Add more salt to taste.)

  • Spoon the mushroom mixture onto each slice of bread. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.

  • Bake for 5-7 minutes at 375F until bread is crispy and slightly golden on the edges.

Notes

Add garlic rub to each slice of bread for extra flavor:
  • Cut one garlic clove in half and rub it over the bread before topping it with the mushroom mixture.
