Step 6: Roll out the dough

Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it out between two sheets of waxed parchment paper. Roll out until it becomes the size of a baking dish plus the sides. I used a 10 inch dish.

Expert Tips:

  • Line the dough evenly at the bottom and up the sides of the tart pan. It will prevent any leakage of the filling.
  • Preheat the oven fully before placing the tart in. A hot oven helps in achieving a crisp crust.
  • Allow the tart to cool completely before slicing. This allows the filling to set and makes slicing easier.
  • For apple variety, Jonagold or Honeycrisp apples are the best choice. They both hold well in the oven and have the sweetness you want in an apple tart, and other baked goods.

Recipe FAQs

How do you store apple tart?

Store apple tart on the counter, covered for 2-3 days the most. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week, but the taste will not hold up like a fresh apple tart.

Which apples are best for apple tart?

Can I use other fruit instead of apples?

Yes, you can! That’s the beauty of this cinnamon-spiced recipe. Fresh peaches or pears also work well but for the ultimate fall flavors.
